Randy Turner-3:00-7:00PM

Greetings, neighbors, I'm Randy Turner, “The Ran-Man”. I'm proud to say that I've had a career in radio for 26 years and I've worked many formats from country to rock, oldies and adult contemporary, Top 40. Hey, in this business, you've got to be adaptable.

Probably the biggest highlight of my career has been creating the format for 92.9 WBPM and getting the station out on the road. We present a unique rock based classic hits format and we're all really pleased with the overwhelming positive response we've received to the station since its launch on Feburary 1st, 2007.

I'm very passionate about radio; it's gotta be “in your blood” if you're going to succeed in this business. In addition to my on-air work over the years, I've designed, engineered and hosted numerous long form programs and special features. One that I'm really proud of is my annual “Celebration Of The Season” which features Christmas parody songs, novelty holiday tunes and clips from great Christmas Movies and TV specials.

I'm not into sports at all; never was. I was an AV Geek in school and I think I turned out OK.

I'm a big British TV fan. I love shows like Top Gear, Doctor Who, Absolutely Fabulous, Coupling, Fawlty Towers , French and Saunders, Footballer's Wives, Hustle, Little Britain, Mile High, Mr. Bean, The Vicar Of Dibley and especially the British version of Big Brother (so much fun). You can get many of them on DVD or find the episodes online. That's how I get to see the new episodes of all my favorite shows from across the pond. Recently, a series called “MI-5” (which they call “Spooks” for the American DVD market) came to an end after a 10 year run. It's an incredibly well made show and I highly recommend it.

There are American shows I enjoy too including Amazing Race, Friends, Home Improvement, Las Vegas , Mad About You, NewsRadio, Northern Exposure, Seinfeld, Spin City , Sports Night, Survivor, That 70's Show and the all-time classic WKRP In Cincinatti.

I'm always listening to different types of music. I enjoy ‘happy classical' music (not the somber slow stuff), I have a pretty big library of concert performances and I'm a huge fan of Canadian singer Avril Lavigne.

During nicer weather, you may find me riding my bike on one of the many rail trails of our area. If a guy rolls past you with headphones on and singing a song … that's probably me.

Thanks for listening to 92.9 WBPM and I'll be looking for you around town!
